Do I have to do Witr after Taraweeh?
The Witr prayers are usually offered as the last set of prayers in a night like after the Terawih prayers. The Prophet s.a.w. said, “Make Witr prayer the last of your prayers at night.”
Combinations in the Night Prayer (Tarāwīh)
SIX: If a person wants, he can pray four rak'ahs, then another four rak'ahs, then finish with three Witr due to the hadeeth of A'ishah (radiyallāhu 'anhā): “Allah's Messenger (salallāhu 'alaihi wasallam) would pray four.
It is recorded that Ali bin Abu Talib said, "The witr prayer is not required like your obligatory prayers but the Prophet would perform the witr prayer and say, 'O you people of the Quran, perform the witr prayer, for Allah is One and He loves the witr. '" The literal meaning of witr is "chord of a circle".
Witr prayer is a confirmed sunnah according to the majority of scholars. Whoever omits to pray Witr deliberately is a bad man, whose testimony should not be accepted.
The Prophet prayed eight rak'at of Taraweeh and three rakat of Witr.
Tarawih prayers are prayed in pairs. According to the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi' and Hanbali schools of Sunni Islam, the standard number of rakats is twenty referring it to a narration in Muwatta' Imam Malik which said that "In the time of Umar, the people used to offer 20 raka'āt".
The Prophet said, "Night prayer is offered as two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on, and if you want to finish it, pray only one Raka which will be Witr for all the previous Rakat." Al-Qasim said, "Since we attained the age of puberty we have seen some people offering a three-Rakat prayer as Witr and all that is ...
If one reads in a set of four comprising of one salaam only, and does not sit in the position of qada throughout, this will be considered as one (equal to two rak'ats) if a person offers four rak'ats but after every two he sits in qada this will be considered as two (equal to four rak'ats).
A: You can pray tarawih prayer after the four fard (8) rak'at of Isha salah, before the witr (9) prayer and any time before dawn. It is extremely rewarding to pray the Isha prayer, sleep or rest for a while, then wake up to pray tarawih and witr in the last third of the night.
If a person misses Witr, it is prescribed for him to pray what he usually prays during the day, but he should make it even-numbered by adding one rak'ah. If he usually prays three, he should make it four, and if he usually prays five, he should make it six, and so on, saying the tasleem after each two rak'ahs.
What should I do if I missed WITR?
The jurists generally say that if someone missed their Witr prayers, they have the option of offering them after sunrise.
If one forgets to make the supplication (qunut), one simply performs the prostrations of forgetfulness (sajda al-sahw) before closing the prayer.

Witr is an emphasized prayer that is attached with the 'Esha prayer. Technically, the 'Esha prayer is valid even though one has left out the witr prayer. And Allah knows best.
It is good for you that you offer witr salah after offering sunnah of Isha salah, and then offer only tahajjud in last night so that you have not to do qaza of witr. However, if it is missed sometimes you may offer its qaza in daytime.
The least complete way in Witr is to pray two rak'ahs and say the tasleem, then to pray one rak'ah and say the tasleem. It is permissible to say one tasleem, but one should say one tashahhud not two, as stated above.
According to a Hadith from Sahih Al Bukhari, taraweeh prayer is eight rakats. The Prophet (PBUH) led the taraweeh prayer for eight rakats. Taraweeh is prayed in sets of two rakats each, in the same way as you would pray your normal salah. The shortest is two rakats and the longest is 20 rakats.
[After every two rakats, one should Istighfar, read Durood, and Dhikr; and after four rakats each, say duas of Quran and Hadith (Duas that are recited in the five daily prayers) However, this Taraweeh dua doesn't appear in Qur'an or Hadith. It's rather a common dua that has been popular due to its adequate meaning.]
As we can see from the references given above, there is no set limit for the number of Rakat of Taraweeh in the Quran or Hadith and therefore, you can pray as much as you want. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to offer 8 Rakat of Taraweeh.
The establishment of 20 Rakats Taraweeh with congregation started upon the order of Umar and it was Umar also who established this 20 Rakats Taraweeh in the whole month.

How long does 20 rakat Taraweeh take?
It may take a few hours depending on the speed of the reciter. People who don't offer the whole 20 rakahs usually leave after 8 or 12.
ANSWER: It's not mandatory, however, it is a highly recommended Sunnah which Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam never missed even when traveling.
I don't know Dua-e-Qunoot. Is there another dua that I can read? Answer: walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah, I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.
But is it valid for a Muslim to pray two rak'ahs of Taraweeh with the intention of praying the Sunnah prayer of 'Isha'? The answer is: Yes, that is valid; in fact it is even valid to pray 'Isha' behind someone who is praying Taraweeh.
Taraweeh prayer is two by two rak'ahs.
It is perfectly appropriate for anyone to offer Taraweeh prayer, which is the name used for night worship in Ramadan, at home, individually or in a group. In fact, it is better to offer voluntary prayers at home, leaving the mosque for obligatory prayers.
After the Tarawih, there is the Witr Prayer of three rak`ahs. In Ramadan, these can be performed in congregation and aloud. In a mosque, short surahs are usually recited during these rak`ahs. After the ruku` (bowing) of the last rak`ah, it is a Sunnah for the imam to supplicate aloud before prostrating.
When do I pray Tarawih? Tarawih is prayed at night any time after the obligatory 'Isha prayer. Please note that you should not pray Tarawih after the Witr prayer, as the Witr prayer is the last prayer of the night.
Indeed, there is nothing wrong with repeating a soorah or a verse within the same rak'ah. Al-Nasaa'i (1010) and Ibn Maajah (1350) narrated that Abu Dharr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood reciting a verse and repeating it until morning came.
The time for Witr prayer lasts from after 'Isha' prayer until the dawn begins. See question no. 46544. Once dawn begins, the time for Witr is over, based on the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Pray Witr before morning comes.” Narrated by Muslim, 754.
Why do people cry during Witr?
Crying when asking Allah for something is virtuous and is one of the methods that helps in acceptance of du'aa as we are humbling ourselves in front of Allah and showing our urgent need for His help.
It is a four rak'ah prayer in Sunni Islam. The two Sunnah rak'ah following the Isha' are highly recommended and so is the three rakat Witr. There are a few optional prayers that can be recited after the Isha' prayer, including the Nafilat ul-Layl prayers (together termed tahajjud), as well as the tarawih in Ramadan.
hence why if you plan on praying Tahajjud you will wait to pray your Witr prayer after finishing your Tahajjud salah. Even though this is an extra prayer the Prophet (PBUH) would never leave it, even when he was traveling. The Witr Salah is done by praying two rak'ahs and then praying one single ra'kah.
"The Witr prayer is offered in units of two raka'at. If you fear that dawn is near, conclude with a single rak'ah so the night prayer will be of an odd number." (Bukhari) The Witr prayer is the last prayer of the night. It can be offered any time after Isha and before Fajr.
From here, you can complete this rak'ah by saying "Allahu Akbar" and standing up. Finally, perform another rak'ah and finish the prayer with tasleem and the Witr prayer.
- Pray Isha (four raka'as)
- Pray two raka'as sunnah of Isha.
- Set your intention to start praying tarawih/qiyam. ...

Do you have to pray 3 WITR?
The consensus among the jurists is the Witr should be completed in odd number of rakats. This can be three, five, seven, or even nine. The most common practice is to pray three rakats for Witr and there are two ways this can be completed.
When people recite Surah al-Ikhlas and al-Mu'awwidhatayn between each two rak'ahs, or the imam says “Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah)” and the congregation behind him responds by saying, “Subhan Allah wa bi hamdihi, subhan Allah il-'Azim (Glory and praise be to Allah, Glory be to Allah the Almighty).”
Tarawih time
Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmu' (3/526): “The time for Tarawih begins when 'Isha prayer is over, as was stated by al-Baghawi and others, and lasts until dawn comes.” It says in al-Insaf (4/166): “The time for it (i.e., Tarawih) begins after 'Isha prayer and its Sunnahs, according to the correct view.
